Sun, Moon And Stars

In old age my blinders are removed.
Observe things I must approve.
Sun in the sky,
Up on high.
Bringing warmth and light.
Too much darkness is a fright.
Yet, nighttime brings,
Wonderful things.
The white orb of the moon.
Enough to make lovers swoon.
The brightness of the stars.
Twinkling and sparkling from afar.
Then, explosions and streaks of light.
Shooting stars in the night.
Oh, the wonder of the sight.
God's creation has such might.

Everything I see now has something to tell me. Must be because I am near the end of my time on this wonderful earth. Love every minute of every day. Sad or glad. BJ

The glory of God's creation is always all around us, BJ, whether it be in the plants and flowers of nature or in the critters of the wild woods or vast oceans, or in the people we see and meet, or in the vast night starry sky, or simply in watching a sunrise or sunset; all of this is a piece of God's creation to appreciate and admire. Your splendid poem expressed this sentiment very well and was a delight to read. Carl.
Author's Response: More thanks. This one wasnt hard. It just popped into my head. Was strange the way it did that. BJ

I think that as I have aged my senses become more acute. I take in the world around me and process it in ways that I never did before. The wisdom that comes with experience is a catalyst for inspiration and creativity. You are developing in your writing skills even in the short time you have been on site. I revel in the glory of that. April
Author's Response: You have no idea how much I appreciate you getting me to do this. It is meaning more and more to me each day. Martin encourages me and Sheri also. Have received so many positive comments. Just dont know what to do. I think you understand when I say something jumps to the front of my head and I have to put it down or at least start on it. Dont feel right unless I check the site every day. Thanks again.

Oh, what a marvelous painting, filled with realistic colors that blend to my imagery! You need to add another "o" to "too much darkness" - I love the couplets and especially the ending one which pays credit the One - Sheri

Isn't it interesting how much more intense the feelings get, the nearer we arrive to the end? ...and filled with such love of God's creation, how could there be any fear in death? I couldn't imagine myself having any hesitation about it. --Stan
